I started Tin Star Border Collies as a small hobby business when I was 12 years old. I still have my original female dog, Abby, and have grown the business by adding one of her female pups, Ally, and a stud dog, Jack. I chose Border Collies because they are extremely loyal, agile, smart, and great with children and animals. With 9 siblings and a variety of farm animals, this breed fits my needs perfectly! Running this business and raising the pups has taught me many skills, including; responisbile animal care, basic veterinary skills, communication, marketing, and so much more.
Tin Star Border Collies remains a small scale home business. In the best interests of my female dogs, I raise only 1 litter each year per dog. Each litter usually has a variety of long, medium, and short haired female and male pups with both traditional and “wild” looking markings. The pups are raised around lots of animals (a cat even sleeps in their kennel fairly often) and have daily interaction with children. They have gone to homes where they have excelled as working livestock dogs, agility and frisbee competitors, or well-loved family dogs. I look forward to continue raising many more happy, healthy pups!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you have. I would love to help in any way I can!
Thanks!
